The Story

Author: Nissan Mindel

Publisher: Kehot Publication Society
Format: 6" x 9" Hardcover, 272 Pages
Language: Chinese

Drawing upon a wide range of sources from Maimonides to the Chasidic masters, the author explains the deeper meanings of the morning, afternoon and evening prayers, the Grace After Meals, and the prayer before going to bed.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of blessed memory, asked Fishel Katz of Miami Beach, Florida, to submit a list of works of Chassidic thought to be translated into Chinese.  From the list, the Rebbe decided on two: The Divine Commandments and My Prayer, both authored by Nissan Mindel.

To the Rebbe, this was a project of great importance. The Rebbe explained that by translating Chassidus into different languages we actually elevate the language from its mundane state, bringing it into the realm of holiness.

We hope that the ideas and wisdom in this book can inspire Chinese readers, deepen their understanding of Jewish cultural traditions, and provide enlightenment and guidance for readers who pursue spiritual exploration.
