The Soul of Nishmat
The prayer known as Nishmat Kol Chai is recited every Shabbat and Yom Tov. It is an outstanding celebration of praise for the Creator's greatness and splendor and a hymn of thanksgiving for His kindness towards us and the beneficent effluence that He showers upon us.
But concealed behind the beautiful poetic language is an entire world of esoteric meaning that invites our exploration. The entire prayer was written on the foundations of Kabbalistic teachings couched in the language of the Torah's inner dimension. Underneath the surface, Nishmat describes the mysteries of the supernal worlds and charts the depths of our souls.
In this book, Nishmat is presented with a commentary based on the Torah's inner teachings, shining new light on its words. The commentary includes both a short, literal English translation, and a longer, clear elucidation of the Chassidic teachings on the text, supplemented by exegeses on the wonder of creation mentioned in Nishmat.
